Supervision
Besides personal contact in my practice (preferred) or while walking outdoors in nature, I also offer supervision online (e.g. Skype, Zoom).
In my practice I offer individual supervision and team supervision (up to about 5 participants).
I am listed in the supervision register of the ÖBVP (Austrian Federal Association for Psychotherapy) and am a recognised supervisor of the WKO (Austrian Economic Chamber), authorised to train candidates in life and social counselling.
Supervision is an accompanying process in which people who work “in the broadest sense” in the social field can work through professional problems, conflicts, questions and topics together with an outside expert. This view from “outside”, from someone who is not part of the system, helps to recognise new approaches and new paths.
Supervision offers the chance for emotional relief for the individual and for greater job satisfaction in the team. New approaches are developed that help you step out of disruptions in a professional and appropriate way, so that the working process becomes constructive again (for example, communication in the team improves or access to clients widens) and there is more joy and satisfaction at work. Supervision is time-limited and always aims to help you handle your professional tasks more effectively and with less effort.
Two areas of focus can be distinguished: case supervision – working on how you deal with your clients, and how their living worlds and problems affect your own work situation – and team supervision – how you deal with colleagues, superiors and work processes, and how the organisation as a whole influences each area of work.
It matters to me to create a good, supportive atmosphere in which it is possible to show uncertainty, to express problems and conflicts, but also to acknowledge successes, to reassure yourself of your knowledge and experience, to nurture your own resources and to look after your mental hygiene. And besides the seriousness and effort of supervisory work, humour should not be neglected.
Supervision is now standard for professionals. You should make use of supervision as regularly as possible throughout your working life. It is especially important when starting a career, during change or restructuring in a company, and when changing jobs.
Signs that it is time for supervision:
Contact me and arrange a free initial meeting in my practice. It is for getting to know each other and clarifying your concern. We also discuss the framework: costs, duration, process and cancellation terms. This initial meeting takes 20 minutes.
