Where we work

Where we work is decided together in conversation: on site at your company, in my practice in St. Pölten – or while walking outdoors in nature. Sometimes we deliberately change location in order to usefully disturb processes that have become stuck – or should I say: gone astray.

Expertise

My core competence is a systemic, process-based view of the interactions in everyday company life, which from a certain phase on becomes focused on numbers. The foundation: a completed carpentry apprenticeship with practical work experience, technical college (HTL) diploma, a university focus on market research and psychology, teaching and thesis supervision in marketing & sales, and experience as a product manager and as a marketing & sales manager in large international companies.

Assessment of the current situation, developing the process together

After the initial meeting we explore together: What is going well? Where is there room for improvement? Which challenges remain, and which connections maintain or stabilise them? It matters to me to understand the challenges precisely and to keep the spotlight on them: Which mechanisms in your system have produced which solution approaches and coping strategies so far, how helpful are they, and how well do you function in which context?

A possible sequence: after the free 20-minute initial meeting comes the “assessment of the current situation”. It often takes 1.5 units (1 unit = 50 minutes), i.e. 75 minutes. The process then often begins like this:
(1) explore the current situation and environment, (2) deepen one or two important aspects, (3) outline possible next steps and, where appropriate, measurable goals.

As a consultant I do not provide ready-made solutions. I am responsible for a carefully prepared, systemic process – for example in the appropriate phases of market research, strategy, marketing and sales – for the framework of the assignment and for professionally grounded suggestions. You, as the client, decide on your own responsibility which implementation works for you in practice.

Think of a house: some people worry about details of the attic conversion and forget that the foundation has to be built well first. Only then can the ground floor, first floor and attic be placed on top, and in the end everything comes together under one roof. Then the attic conversion and the interior design can be worked out in a more relaxed way.
